Type ‘Start a Blog’ in Google and you’ll find thousands of articles on how to setup your site but none of them tell you exactly how to make money.

I’ve spent years working freelance, blogging and searching for different ways to make money.
I’ve made more than my share of mistakes and seen more scams than I can count.
I’ve also found countless individuals that are living their dream lives, with a successful work-at-home business. This isn’t about not working. I don’t promise you a 4-Hour Work Week.

How Much Money Can You Make Blogging?
Promises of six-figure incomes draw a lot of people into blogging. The idea that you can make thousands blogging from home every month sounds too good to be true.
A lot of websites and bloggers don’t help. The idea of making money online has become a late-night infomercial, virtually guaranteeing success…as long as you sign up for the blogger’s course.
The truth is a little different.
Just like any business, there’s a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to make a blog successful. Beyond just pecking away at the keyboard, you need to manage a range of tasks from search engine optimization to accounting and reinvesting in your business.
And you have to know how to make money!
Making money blogging, I mean making real money that turns your online properties into a business, means understanding the different ways to make money and how to use each of them strategically.
Understand this and you will not only survive the 95% failure rate on new blogs but you’ll grow your blogging business every year and reach those six-figure dreams.
How Much Money do Bloggers Make?
There are two problems you’ll have to face as a new blogger when it comes to making money.
First is the fact that blogs do not make much money immediately. You might only get a thousand or two visitors a month over the first six months blogging and that usually doesn’t translate into much of an income.
Many of the best ways bloggers make money won’t be an option over these first few months either. Sponsors aren’t interested in a blog that won’t get their message out to tens of thousands and you haven’t built the community that will drive students to coaching or classes.
These two reasons are why most bloggers give up and stop updating their website before their six-month anniversary. More than half of bloggers in a Problogger survey reported making less than $100 a month.
Stick with it though and blogging can be an opportunity like no other. One-in-ten bloggers to the survey reported making more than $15,000 a month.
And your monthly income will grow surprisingly fast. How many jobs have you had that doubled your monthly income every year?
I just closed out my best month yet, booking nearly $5,000 last month in blogging income on top of $4,200 in freelancing income. That monthly total is more than four-times what I made in the same month last year and my goal is to double it over the next year.
Even at that goal, I would still be just scraping the surface of what is possible with online income. I personally know bloggers that make tens of thousands a month and one that makes millions a year.
These super-successful bloggers aren’t geniuses, they have no secret that helped them make money. They simply learned how to run their websites like a business and how to use different methods to make money.

I’m still amazed when people ask me if it’s really possible to make money blogging, even despite everything they’ve heard from failed bloggers. I’m excited to share this guide with you and an income strategy that will change your life just as it’s changed mine.
